My eyes are once again filled with tears, as I have just read about Elsa’s passing.
Last April, I received a phonecall from one of our fellow eliters, craneking1 (Steve), who informed me that Elsa had been admitted to the hospital. I immediately called her and first spoke to craneking1, who made the long trip from Indiana to Illinois to visit with her that weekend. Elsa’s daughter Michelle was also there that day, and so was Elsa’s best friend Betty. I spoke with craneking1 first, then spoke to Elsa, who was under so much medication that day, that she had no recollection of our conversation. I then talked with both Michelle and Betty, to let them know how much we miss Elsa, and our thoughts and prayers were with her for a speedy recovery.
Elsa was discharged from the hospital several weeks later, and on June 19, 2010, I received a telephone call from a number that I didn’t recognize on my call display. It was craneking1, who said ‘hang on a sec Mar, I have someone here that wants to talk to you’.
I waited, and then heard this lovely lady’s voice greet me with a warm hello. Much to my surprise, it was Elsa.
We chatted for quite some time, Elsa told me how much she misses all of us, and I let her know how much we miss her too. I assured her that splitsville just isn’t the same without her and I hope she gets better soon. Elsa wanted me to give hugs to everyone and let them know she would be back to visit us soon.
And now, I have learned that my ‘darling daughter’ Elsa374 is no longer with us.
My heartfelt condolences to Elsa’s family and to all of her eliters friends.
Elsa, you will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by all.
May we cherish all the wonderful memories of Elsa374 in our hearts forever.
