Eliters has a “Same Name Rule” which requires that a player in a Tournament play using the Play Site (Yahoo! / Pogo) ID identical to the name in which he is registered. This is done primarily to eliminate confusion.
In very exceptional cases, and under certain circumstances the rule may be relaxed:
Special Events Tournaments, such as Halloween Tournaments: TD will announce in rules that special name is permitted, players should register under their Elite names, the special name should incorporate part of the Elite name, players should make sure their opponents know who they are and can find them.
Boots not allowing correct name back in: sometimes the Play Site will not allow a player to enter with his/her chosen name. If this occurs during Tournament play, and the player is able to return with a different name, and if the TD is convinced it is the same player, then the use of the different name may be allowed for the remainder of the Tournament.
Beginning Tournament with wrong name; many players have different ID’s for different Leagues, and may inadvertently begin a Tournament with the wrong name. In such a case the TD should go to the room where the match is being contested, offer the opponent the option of finishing the match out or requiring the wrong-name player to begin a new match with the correct name. In either event, the player MUST return with the correct name before starting any subsequent match, and if he/she does not do so, the TD should start a clock and inform the player that he/she will be timed out.
Should you notice that a player is playing under the wrong name, I would bring this to the attention of the TD. Any TD should follow this up themselves and then take any appropriate actions as they see fit.
If you felt that the TD was incorrect in their handling of this, then you should report this matter to that Leagues HA, links to his email can be found at the bottom left of that Leagues main page. Failing that you can also find a link via the Contact Us.
Hope this is of assistance.
