We had a problem today and I would like to make us all aware of the answer.
In a Team tourney the rules are very plain about winners and state the following:
When the match ends, the TEAM to which the losing PLAYER belongs loses the match. The captain reports the loss for that team, and the other team advances. In the unlikely event that one player from each team ties for the highest (worst) score at the end of the match, then the win will be awarded to the TEAM whose remaining player has the lowest (best) score.
Note this carefully: it is possible for you, as an individual, to have the best (lowest) score, and yet for your TEAM to lose the match. The only time "best score" is relevant is if the teams are tied for worst (highest) score.
In the extremely unlikely event that a match ends with the teams tied for both best and worst score, players will remain seated and a new match will be started. One hand will be played, and the worst score on that hand will lose the match for his/her team. If the match is tied after one hand, a second hand will be played etc, until a single player has a worst score, at which point his/her team loses the match.
HeartY Admin is very sorry for any problem this may have caused to any of our players, and you have our apologies in this matter. I would like to thank all the players involved for your patience and understanding.
Also I would like to remind you all that when you click on the register button you are in fact agreeing to having read and understood all rules.
By clicking the 'Register' button, I declare that I have read Eliters General Tourney Rules and Hearts Specific Game Rules and agree to abide by these rules.
And yes Tds should also be aware of all the rules, this was in fact a rare circumstance. But if you ever have any questions about any HeartY rules please use the link on the Tourney page and this one here Hearts Specific Game Rules
