If you have a difficulty with it ask me here please, so that any answers I give can be seen by all. It's very simple though: NOTHING HAS CHANGED...
Rankings, seedings, everything are just as they were before. We have simply added a new feature, "Quarterly Rankings", which will allow players to compare their performance against their peers across a realistic time frame.
We have essentially given folks a chance to say, "This quarter I was the best player (or most improved, or played the most matches, or had the best winning percentage, whaetver) in Pogo Dominoes."
In the opinion of many, as we become more established in EliteLeague, with more and more players racking up hundreds of tourneys played, the rankings have becom increasingly "abstract", reflecting largely who among the "Good" players had been with Elite the longest. While we do not believe that this is entirely true, it's nonetheless a valid perception in many ways, and one that is frequently expressed by our members.
For this reason we have created a supplemental, parallel rating/ranking category, where everyone starts fresh with a clean slate each quarter, so that folks may compare their performances over specifically-delineated periods of time. The only "practical" application of these "new" ratings, other than bragging rights, will be that leagues can use them to create invitational tourneys based on "current" stats rather than "lifetime" stats, and we think this is a definite plus.
Does this help?
