New Tourney Format - The Super Robin balouza       12/5/2001 10:16

A new Tourney format was launched today the Super Robin (SR). In this format every player plays 3 Rounds (No elimination).

Super Robin format will be available soon for 1x1 team structure tourneys (1 Player against 1 Player).
Tournaments will comprise 8 to 16 Players, grouped in teams of 2 Players (8, 10, 12, 14, 16).
BYEs will be used to complete the 2 teams structure (maximum 1 BYE per Tourney)
The tournament will consist of exactly 3 Rounds.
Players will change Teams in every Round.
The Player having a Bye opponent will get a win count towards the calculation of the total wins and matches stats.

Super Robin format is available now for 1x3 team structure tourneys (1 Player against 3 Players in 4P format where each Player playing individually against the 3 other Players and we have one match winner and 3 losers).
Super Robin tournaments will comprise 8 to 32 Players, grouped in teams of 4 Players (8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32).
BYEs will be used to complete the 4 teams structure (maximum 3 BYEs per Tourney)
The tournament will consist of exactly 3 Rounds.
Players will change Teams in every Round. (2 Players may play in the same team in 2 rounds, especially if it is a small tourney).
In the rare case of a Player having 3 Byes as opponents in any Round, the Player will get a win count towards the calculation of the total wins and matches stats.

At the completion of the 3rd Round, the Player with the highest number of matches won will be declared the winner. If more than 1 Player share the highest number of matches won (3 or 2 or 1) then the Tourney will be a tie and No Winner will be declared.

As in all EliteLeague tournaments, 75% of the YEPs pot is paid back to the players, with 25% going to TDs and Administration. However, the Super Robin format is “winner take all”: that is to say, the entire payout (75% of the pot) goes to winning Player. If there is a tie (as described above), the tied players will each receive an equal share of the payout.

All matches wins and losses (including wins against a Bye) will be posted as soon as reported to the Player’s match won/lost stats.

Tourney played will count as 1 tourney and will be posted on finishing the tourney to Player's tourney stats. A sole winner in a Super Robin will be awarded a 1 Victory in tourney stats. In the event of a tie, no winner will be posted to tourney stats.
