Disclaimer: This is not directed to an individual. If you feel it is directed at you, then please read Help Topics 2634 and 2635 which were provided in the EDS email that is sent at the start of each division.
1. The EDS Eliters Messenger is NOT an instant message system. It does not pop up on my screen and let me know that you have posted "I want to play now". It does not notify me that you are in the room, on your way to the room or have been in the room for "2 hours and 20 minutes". The EDS email suggests checking the EM "at least once a day" which means there is a possibility you could post a message and I might not see it for 23 hours.
2. I am a TD. I also support other TDs in their tourneys. Seeing me in the lobby and bombarding me with table invites does not count as "valid attempts to schedule". My presence in the lobby might mean I am hosting or registered in a tourney. I have been told more than once by EDS players that they were unaware that TDs are forbidden to host and play at the same time. NOW YOU KNOW. We can't. If I am posting pairs for a RR, then I'm going to decline your invite to play EDS. Additionally, I very rarely click the "decline" button in error. So, if I declined you once, I will decline you the next five times you invite me during the next 120 seconds.
3. EDS has the potential to be fun. One reason I've always enjoyed the format is because it can be a relaxed game with a longer format which actually gives the chance to chat a bit with your opponent - get to know the person who you're playing. You aren't under the time pressure of another player waiting for the winner of your game, there is no TD present so it can be a just a fun game. So if I say, how are you, how was your day or ask you if you've been an Eliter for a long time, it's just an effort to get to know you a little; during tourneys you don't get to do that and I'm interested in the people with whom I spend so much of my time playing games.
Good luck at the tables all.
