Re: its about begging for yeps uofmnsigmachi     3/7/2012 15:28

In response to Pompey... You have a valid point, however I have told this person more times than I can count that all they have to do is TWO things and they will be fine in eliters for a long time to come...

1 - Never, ever, ever, ever beg for yeps or talk about not being able to play because you're out of yeps
2 - Never, ever, ever, ever play in two tournaments at once. Especially when a person talks constantly about trying to get better (even if they say that it's because they need to win more yeps so they can play more), playing in two at once for this particular person hurts them because they can't focus on just one, so have a higher likelihood of losing, AND they can't keep pace, which makes everything compounded.

So I tell them this and follow up with "If you do these two simple things, I'll even set up time to help you and talk through the games with you so you can get better and better". The next day, said person does both of the things, and the only response is, "I can keep up in two, my computer is just freezing up".... Sigh.....

I think that part of what makes Eliters so great is it's diversity with respect to country, religion, age, social status, etc. Some folks are slower players and have lower skill levels than others because of various reason, whether it be disabilities, age, intelligence, or just plain wanting to play leisurely, and I've said in the past that as long as the person is friendly and within the rules, I'm fine with that. To re-enforce what Pino said, this person is breaking the rules, not once or twice but daily, and nothing has been done to stop it.

I've just gone back and read most of the responses to pino's original message. To outsiders, it may seem like we're ganging up on this person, but it gets to a point where enough is enough and when you're on your 18th strike, the game should be over.
