Many of you have noticed that Yahoo! has come up with a whole new category of "league-oriented" pay-for-play sites called Yahoo! All Stars. Yahoo! has gone into direct competition with MyLeague, creating an infrastructure where players must pay $60/yr to participate, and anyone may, within that structure, create their own leagues.
Because of this, EliteLeague management has opened "Elite" leagues in each of these games that All Stars supports. We do not know if we are going to expand into All Stars, but we want to secure the rights to our name in case we decide to do it.
In any case, we absolutely will not change the current Elite structure of League and play in free, public rooms as long as Yahoo! makes those rooms available to the public. We cannot imagine Yahoo! ever killing those free rooms; they are the backbone of their demographics. And if we ever DO expand into Yahoo! All Stars, it will be as anew set of Leagues altogether.
Any rumours that Elite has formed an alliance with Yahoo! and is selling its membership to them are totally false. We are as surprised as anyone else by what has happened. We can assure you that we will never merge or sell Elite to anyone, and we will continue to serve our Members better and better every day, using the same policies and strategies that we have always used.
