Thanks, Tony. Admittedly, I hadn't read the criteria for POM in a long time, but now that I have, my opinion doesn't change. Again, this is not a knock on td's nor a plea to get more votes for POM myself, but any organization or league that has it's "Player of the Month" criteria set so that the administrators of the league achieve the award more often than not, shouldn't said criteria be re-examined?
Purce brought up some great points, and I appreciate changes that are put into place to make things better. My counter to her point that "Td's are players too" is that once players become td's they have different standards to live up to. That's part of the reason I don't apply to become a TD, aside from my schedule not allowing: I'm too selfish to sacrifice stating my opinion, and td's for the most part do a good job of biting their tongue for the "betterment of league".
That being said, if td's act in a manner that leaders of an organization should, then they SHOULD get more good notes than other members. They also do things like donate to get tournaments to run, which is awesome! And I appreciate it! BUT, that means they are in a lot more tournaments, another criteria.
I guess my main point is that TD's are held to a higher standard, it's how organizations are a success. One thing that all the really good td's have in common is putting Eliters before themselves.... The "betterment of the league". And I think those td's would agree that td's winning "Player of the Month" in bunches like this month does not do anything to better the league.
Again, I'm not bitter, even though it may seem like it... Just making an observation that td's running away with the POM awards hurts the league much more than it helps it.
