Jeff its only "within the rules" because it would be impossible for a computer program to differentiate between a deliberate foul & and an honest attempt to hit the correct ball. It is only a small minority of players that adopt this tactic and to my mind its not a sporting and fair way to play (& I consider you to be a fair & sporting player who has not adopted this tactic in all the games we have played). Maybe it would be fair if a player wishing to adopt this tactic make their opponent aware of this before a game commences. Its a shame that the pool program cannot be changed to mirror the snooker program whereby if a player fouls the opponent is given the option to play on or make their opponent replay the shot. This is obviously not like real life pool as at the end of the day its a computer game version.
