My problem isn't having a timer, it was that the timer rule wasn't enforced in the same manner as the one in May was.
In May, my timer ran out as I played my first word, it was ruled as a loss. Today the opp runs out of time while playing first word and he was not required to report a loss.
If I froze while the opp was writing his first word, that wouldn't have stopped the timer. I would have had to leave for the clock to stop. So my point is, if I froze as my opp claims I did, how would that make him unable to write?
DMD, I was also a TD a million yeps ago and have never called a fellow td or eliter out by name in club. I know both sides of being a td vs. a player. I feel that either the calling from before or the 1 today was wrong. I know I made mistakes when I was hosting and when I did I said, I'm sorry, I made a mistake.
As to the good sportsmanship and this being a game, I agree. Win or lose I ALWAYS say gg and ty4. When I lose to a pogo/yahoo hand I ALWAYS say gg and ty4t. I don't believe that disagreeing about a call is poor sportsmanship. I feel I displayed good sportsmanship by continuing to play, not holding up your T or by using vulgar language.
For me, this isn't about winning a medal. If this was a 25 yep t, I would still want clarification. I don't want a charity win anymore than I would accept losing due to a questionable ruling.
