Re: Timers on tourneys s10blazzer      9/23/2008 14:07

I agree with you boone. Some players like the timers and most are good enough to play a word in 2:00 or what ever the timer is.
With the slow play rule the TD does not have to sit at the table. The players that thinks the other player is playing slow calls the td to the table and the td mentions to the players to pls pick up the pace and then sits there for maybe 3 turns. I know as for me I dont go into a table and watch every game. I go to lobby and let players know that if they need me i will be in lobby so as for pogo not letting you on multiple tables does not come into play most of the time.
I know that more players would come and play if some tourneys did not have a timer. We all are not word brains and the timer kills them because you lose the game when your timer runs out, not just lose a turn. This is pogo's fault. but rules can be changed or adjusted to appeal to all players. I think the timer on regular tourneys most of the time does not affect players that play in QWERTY. But we are always looking for more players in every league and some times a timer intimidates new players. The biggest thing with timers is on EVENT tourneys, because in these tourneys are eliters players that don't play that often and come to support the league in events. I think sometimes we as HA, AA need to make changes even if we dont think they will work. Sometimes other peoples ideas turn out to work out great even if we didn't think they would.. Just My Two Yeps worth....I agree with others. Maybe there should be a poll put up so then the HA knows for sure and can adjust from there.
