Many of you Spades Pogo Eliters may have noticed on your tourney pages something in the space for round timers....this can normally be used for rated games to ensure that they do not run too long. I had tried to respond to the complaints about the rated games that ran way longer than most liked. So I thought I would put 30 in there and see how it looked. This in turn made the other TDs on the team start putting it in there when they created tourneys. However we had not really discussed it as a team and certainly I had not trained anyone on this.
We then decided a couple of weeks ago that there are too many logistics to figure out on this before using it. If this created any confusion to players seeing it there, I do apologize that would be my mistake for putting it on the tourney pages without really preparing people (including myself and the team) before we made it a steadfast option. At this time, we will NOT be using round timers even if you see it on the tourney page, it is a mistake and hopefully the TD will announce this to let you know, but going forward you should not see it on the tourney page as I have asked all TDs to take it off for creating their tourneys. When we are ready to use it we will announce in the club and lobby that we are going to do so.
Using the round timers for full 250 or full 500 games means that players will have to announce on the tourney page when their table begins their round. The TD will then have to keep up with time for each table and come to each table to give a 5 min warning. If the game does not finish by 30 mins, this also means that players have abandoned a rated game. What we can do is play full 250 or 500 games, but set the table unrated.....and then instead of keeping track of hands, you still get to play to 250 or 500.
I will put this to a poll for the players and any feedback in the Spades Pogo club is welcomed. Thank-you players. Without you we wouldn't have such a great team and a great time hosting and playing in the WILD BLUE!!!!!!! SpadP ELITERS ROCKS!!!!
