Re: Slow play vs Impatience NUCK_MASTER1234     3/18/2011 16:29

Hello All,

There have been some very interesting and well thought out comments concerning this issue of Slow play. As we all know, Slow play has and will always be a THORN in tourneys completing in a timely manner. It only takes one slow player, one timer, or even one Intentional delay to completely throw off and bog down a tourney. It's the "Players and TD's responsibility" to keep games going at a smooth pace. All players should be considerate of there fellow players during a game in keeping the tourney going. The TD is only responsible to say something if slow play is pointed out or if a table is falling behind due to a variety of reasons.

From the TD's standpoint I would say this: NO TD, not one of us really want to get into battles with members concerning slow play. We TD's are players just like the rest, who have volunteered our playing time to hosting tourneys for our friends and fellow members in Eliters. A simple reminder from a TD to "Please pick up the pace" could be happening in those few cases where players conversations at the table are holding up an entire tourney.

We all, players and TDs come to Eliters to sit back, relax, unwind, and have fellowship with our friends we have made in our great ELITER Family. This is a completely safe and Fun place to be. Those members who wish to make it anything but a fun place should look elsewhere for a negative place to play. If the day would ever come that I felt like ELITERS and its members were not here to socialize and play a fun game or two, then that will be the day i resign from all my duties I volunteered to do.

Let's all try to take a positive approach to this and do what we can to make it better. We all know what causes slow play. There is a time and place for long conversations and thats not in a game with others who are waiting in the next round to play. This does not mean we cannot talk during a game. But common sense from all of us concerning holding up games should be used.

For those FEW but selected members who must hold up games for the wrong reasons, the TD's can warn, note, and even disqualify if necessary. But these are very few members and incidents and not the majority of fine members we have.

ELITER's is truly the best league on the internet and we should continue to keep it that way.

Have a GREAT ELITERS DAY and WEEKEND.
