Pinochle (Safe Harbor) Last Update: 3/15/2015

Welcome to Eliters Pinochle Safe Harbor League (PINOY).

Pinochle tourneys are team tourneys. If you do not have a partner lined up for a Partner Select (PS) tourney, please arrive at least 15 minutes early to find a partner. Many tourneys are System Select (SS) and do not require locating a partner as the system will create teams.

1x1 Tourneys have been added to PINOY (Playing with bots).

Tourneys will be created as SE 1x1 2P SS.

Everyone is to follow these rigid instructions:

  • Set the Table Allowing Bots to play.
  • Not to start the game before the opponent sits.
  • The opponent must sit adjacent to the other Player, so each will have a bot as a Partner.

These tourneys may NOT be played as Hot Tourney or Event; the TD presence is a must. We will continue having the Deca Tourneys as 2x2 Tourneys.

Tables should be set with the following options:

  • Protected, not Private, unless directed otherwise by the hosting TD.
  • Extra Score for Duplicate Sequences.
  • At least 20 points needed to score.
  • Un-check Allow idle force forfeiting.

Rated or Unrated, how to set the table:

  • Any games with limited number of hands will be played at Unrated Tables. (3/500, 4/500, 5/500, 6/500, 7/500, 8/500).
  • Any full game Regular format will be played at Rated Tables..
  • Any non-regular full game will be  played at Unrated Tables.
  • Partners sit opposite each other (unless stated otherwise in “Tourney Special Rules”).

Round Points
– Number of Hands / Score Goal

Pinochle Play OK League (PINOY) will run tourneys in the following formats; the main format being SE 2x2:

  • SE (Single Elimination - 1x1 2x2): See Help Topic 2211.
  • DE (Double Elimination  - 2x2): See Help Topic 2221.
  • RR (Round Robin  - 2x2): See Help Topic 2231.
  • SR (Super Robin - 2x2): See Help Topic 2232.

The following General Tourney Rules will be observed in all PINOY Tourneys:

  • If the game is a non-bidding game, the number of hands played will be an even number (4, 6 or 8 in most cases) unless a full game or either team reaches 500 first.
  • If the game is a bidding game, the number of hands played will be an odd number (3, 5 or 7 in most cases) unless a full game or either team reaches 500 first.
  • Pino Mix does allow for Regular to be 6 hands as an exception.
  • In the cases of TD error, what is on the tournament page is what will be played.
  • Breaking Ties in Reverse, First Bid and Stick the Dealer two hands will be played to determine winner.
  • Breaking Ties in Regular and One Bid one hand will be played to determine winner.
