In every Period, and for each Division, the DPA (or any other assigned SrTD and above) will create one or a series of "Gathering Tournament" with the following specifications:
-
Tournament will be named as Follows:
- EDS Gathering Tournament
- EDS Gathering Tournament for Division A
- etc...
-
The Tournament will be an Invitation Tournament, and the Division players will be invited to register in it.
-
It will usually be hosted first Sunday after the Period starts. If the Period starts on Saturday or Sunday, then the Tournament will be made on any of the following days.
-
Multiple Divisions Tournaments will be preferably made at same time. Specific times might be changed depending on the availability set by players in the Division.
-
Tournament Fees will be 100 YEPs or over.
-
Round Points will be same as set in the Division EDS Tournament rules.
-
Location (Play Room) will be same as set in the EDS rules.
-
The Matches played during the Gathering Tournaments will count as Matches in the Regular Tourney as well as in the EDS; therefore the losing opponent should report the loss in both the Gathering Tourney Page and the EDS Division Page.
-
If the specific EDS match has already been played and reported before the Gathering Tournament, and then is repeated in the luck of the draw in the Gathering Tournament, the originally-reported EDS match would stand in the EDS stats, and no need to report again the result of the Gathering Tournament match.
-
The benefits of these Gathering Tournaments is that it will help Division Players to arrange and find matches to play within their Division, and it will reduce the time a player usually wait during a Tourney:
-
Even if you do not register as a Player in the Tourney, it's advisable to visit the play room at the tourney time either to play with the available players or to agree on times and exchange contacts.
-
If you have BYE during the Tourney, you can play any available Division Players.
-
If you lose early, you can play other Division Players who also lost.
-
While waiting for the Tourney to start, you can play a match.
-
You can play other available Division Players not registered in the Tourney.
-
Even after the Tourney finishes, you can continue playing with other Division Players who you didn't meet and play in the Tourney seeding.
