LEAGUE TERMS AND ABBREVIATIONS

TOURNEY SPECIAL RULES

The use of anagram programs is completely forbidden. Any player suspected of using them will be warned by the TD and disqualified from the tourney with a note on file. Repeat offenses could result in member termination from league.

If both players pass four consecutive turns at the beginning of a match causing the match to end with no words played, one restart will be allowed. If both players pass four times consecutively again, thus ending the restart with no words played, the higher seeded player will advance.

Many tourneys will use a game clock and a fixed-point total. The match will end when the game clock runs out or one player achieves the fixed-point total. The TD can be called to the table to verify the results if there is a question or problem.

Because most tourneys use a game clock, the Eliters 10-minute clock is only used for no-shows. If your opponent is booted and his/her game clock runs out, you win the match. Please call TD to table to verify that this has happened, preferably while the clock is in its final few minutes. In any case, do not leave the table until the result has been verified.

Any words/letters/tiles placed contrary to the Tourney Special Rules, or violating, or failing to adhere to the Tourney Special Rules, will result in an automatic disqualification.
