Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I was born in Southern Vermont - the youngest of 4. I have had kidney diseasae since birth. I used to be a machine operator at a paper converting plant, until I blew out my neck. After that I became a taxi driver and worked my way up to fleet manager until the day I suffered a grand mal seizure while driving. Next thing I knew I was in the ER and had my license revoked.
How did you learn about Eliters and when did you join?
A friend told me about this cool site called Eliters. I checked them out and joined in June 03. I think I first started playing dominoes and saw these people running tourneys and having fun. Then I tried cribp and cal asked if I wanted to host. The next thing I knew, I was a premium member and I put my TD application in immediately. After a while I moved over to criby and eventually found myself as AA there. Within one year I hosted over 2000 tourneys and am now an HTD in criby.
What other interests or hobbies do you have (other than Eliters of course)?
I enjoy playing cards in real life, as well as video games and or course, spending time online either hosting or playing.
How did you pick your Eliters' Name - does it have any special significance?
Long story - I have always been a taz fan - met my second wife over in cribp where we both hosted. When we got married we moved to Sudbury, Ont. Canada and thats how I came up with sudburytaz.
Tell us one thing about yourself that we are unlikely to know.
I'm just a normal guy - there's nothing unusual about me, except for having only one kidney lol.
What games do you play? Are there any other games you would like to try?
I currently play cribbage, dominoes, holdem pool. Tried hearts but thats not for me, and some spades. Maybe I will explore more games through Eliters.
What makes Eliters special?
Eliters is a fun, caring site to play at. The TDs are great and the players are awesome. My second family.
What is your absolute favorite game - and who taught you to play?
Now thats a tossup question! Cribbage is my all time favorite but I recently started getting into holdem poker, so I would have to say they are my favorites. I basically learnt by sitting at tables and learning from the players.
Do you currently hold any position in Eliters? Is there any particular position you would be interested in?
I am an HTD in criby and that is the perfect position for me. I contribute as much as I can and regret that I can't do more right now.
What is your proudest achievement in life?
What is the most important thing for you in tournament play?
It doesn't matter to me if I win or lose because I love the game and enjoy the players and TDs.
If you had one wish what would it be?
To turn back time and be born healthy.
If you could only use one sentence to describe the way you feel about Eliters, to a prospective new player, what would it be?
Eliters is a fun, family oriented site with caring TDs and players.
What is the most memorable experience that you have had as a TD or a player, online or at a live event?
I've had a lot of great experiences. Two of the best were when I won my 1st and only BOS tourney, and a group of us had an Eliters gathering up in Sudbury. As far as hosting goes - I had a total blast when I was promoted to AA, when I hit my 2000th tourney, 3000th tourney... Now I need to work on my 5000th tourney site wide.
What is the funniest thing that has happened to you since joining Eliters?
We had a halloween tourney and my screen name as stuftaz4sale. I got a lot of laughs for that.
What is the most embarrassing thing, (that you can talk about of course).
None I can mention here but like all TDs I have bouts of typonese at times.
If you could be one person for a day, who would you be and why?
My dad - because he was a hard working father who always found time for us kids.
You are given five minutes to evacuate your house, the kids and pets are safe - which three items would you grab?
Hmmm.. my laptop, wireless adaptor and a litre bottle of Pepsi!
How do you pass the time on your drive to and from work?
If I were still driving it would definitely be listening to country music stations.
Name your three favorite movies:
Tomb Raiders, Wanted, The Dark Knight.
Do you have any particular heros?
There is someone in Eliters who has been like a mother to me for years. She called me when I was in hospital with my kidney failure and has always cared.
What is your guiltiest pleasure?
Hmmm Reeses Peanut Butter Cup minis and Ben & Jerrys ice cream - yummm!
When I grow up I want to be just like:
Me! With everything going on in my life, I still believe there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Any last words for our readers?
It is just a game - you win some, you lose some. In the end all we can say is that we had fun meeting new players, chatting with each other or the TDs. Always remember Eliters rocks!
