More about flitting_k

flitting_k

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am the author of Ale8s Promise, a book that has just been released by publishamerica.com. I am a proud member of Eliters who plays pino whenever I have any free time. I am happily married with 2 grown sons and 1 granddaughter that is the light of my life.

What other interests or hobbies do you have (other than Eliters of course)?

Hobbies - tha4s what you like that you are?t good at? Then I have a lot. Seriously I love to write. My main interest would be my family.

How did you learn about Eliters and when did you join?

I joined Eliters in July 2002. I kept seeing someone ask for a sub. I kept saying I can sub but no one replied to me for the longest time. Then I believe it was darkwolf who invited me to join the league. And the rest is history.

How did you pick your Eliters' Name - does it have any special significance?

I have had several screen names since I joined. I became flitting_k after the teacher at school told me to stop flitting around. The k is for Kathy.

Tell us something unique or interesting about yourself that we are unlikely to know

Wow interesting or uniqu?&tha4s a hard one. Everything I can think of is a secret. But I am no good at go fish!

What makes Eliters special?

The players!

What games do you play? Are there any other games you would like to try?

I like to play a lot games but only belong to 3 leagues in Eliters - pino, gin and go fish. New games? Well that depends on who is going try and teach me.

What is your absolute favorite game - and who taught you to play?

Pinochle is my favorite game. My dad taught me to play single deck pinochle. Playing yahoo pinochle was quite different!

Do you currently hold any position in Eliters? Is there any other particular position you might be interested in?

I was a pino TD for a while. If I had the time to do it right I would still be a TD.

What is your proudest achievement in life?

Right now I would have to say getting my book published! That was a dream come true.

What is the most important thing for you in tournament play?

The most important thing is respect for the other players. AND TO HAVE FUN.

If you had one wish what would it be?

Oh I am not going to push my luck my last wish came true. What are the odds it will happen again so soon?

If you could use one sentence to describe the way you feel about Eliters, to a prospective new player, what would it be?

Eliters is the best place for tournament type game playing because the players make it the best place to play.

What is the most memorable experience that you have had as a TD or a player, online or at a live event?

The most memorable event in eliters for me was the night I was given my silver membership. fire_crack_r announced in the lounge that he would like to give the silver membership he just won to me. That made me cry. That was before I changed my screen name. Back then I used khensell.

What is the funniest thing that has happened to you since joining Eliters?

The funniest thing to happen to me all happened while I was TD. If anyone could make a mess of things I could. But I believe I am remembered most for saying moon your table (during one of my 4s.)

What is the most embarrassing thing, that you can talk about of course

Lol the above answer to that question fits both.

How do you pass the time on your drive to and from work?

I listen to the radio and since I am alone I can sing cause no one else can hear me.

You are given five minutes to evacuate your house, the kids and pets are safe - which three items would you grab?

I would grab all my photos! They Cannot be replaced.

What is your guiltiest pleasure?

Skipping school!

When I grow up I want to be just like:

My grandma!
My grandmother always had room for one more at the table no matter how little she had at the time... She saw something good in everyone and she would say sometimes you just have to look a little harder to find the good but it is there... She was a very special lady and had a way of showing love in everything she did... I wish you could all have known her! Everyone loved my grandma. No matter how hard I try I don't think I will ever quite measure up but it is worth trying.
