Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I love spending as much time as possible with my friends and family. I’m an avid reader – once I start a book I normally finish it within a few days. I also love puzzles – jigsaw puzzles, Sudoku, crosswords. You name the type of puzzle – I probably love it!
What other interests or hobbies do you have (other than Eliters of course)?
In addition to the above, I love going to the movies. I love going for really long walks (sometimes on the beach, I do live in CA after all)
How did you learn about Eliters and when did you join?
I learned about Eliters from Turbotim555 in the doy lobby back in May of 2004
How did you pick your Eliters' Name - does it have any special significance?
I am short and I live in California – I’m not the most creative person!!
Tell us something unique or interesting about yourself that we are unlikely to know
I am Jewish and half-Japanese. I don’t really know anyone else like me…except for my sister!
What makes Eliters special?
Eliters is special because we are a family. We have Eliters in common and it allows us all to interact like we have known each other forever.
What games do you play? Are there any other games you would like to try?
I mostly play dominoes and a bit of gin and cribbage. Since becoming a pstd I have also learned canasta, literati and backgammon.
What is your absolute favorite game - and who taught you to play?
My favorite game is dominoes. I think I am self-taught.
Do you currently hold any position in Eliters? Is there any other particular position you might be interested in?
I am the HA and DPA in DOY. I am a PSTD in BGY, CANAY and LITY. That's about all I can handle right now.
What is your proudest achievement in life?
My most recent proud achievement was “nursing” my geckos back to health. I got them for free off of Craigslist and I really think their time was almost up. Now they are big and fat, alert and happy.
What is the most important thing for you in tournament play?
The most important thing for me is to play in a timely manner. I hate waiting 1 minute between turns.
If you could offer one suggestion to improve Eliters, what would it be?
I would love to see us do more to entice new members to join.
If you had one wish what would it be?
I would wish for enough money to take care of myself and all of my friends and family for the rest of my life.
If you could use one sentence to describe the way you feel about Eliters, to a prospective new player, what would it be?
Eliters is the best place to find honest players and true friends.
What is the most memorable experience that you have had as a TD or a player, online or at a live event?
I was shocked when I got TD of the month. I hadn’t read the newsletter or checked my YEPs yet that day, and wanted1td congratulated me – I had to ask him what in the world he was talking about!
What is the funniest thing that has happened to you since joining Eliters?
The funniest thing would probably be how I now tell military time. My dad was in the Navy, and he goes crazy when I say 17:00 and 2pm and mean the same time.
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you as a player or TD?
I have spammed with the wrong league name or wrong link– it’s horrifying!
If you could be one person for a day, who would you be and why?
I would love to be Abigail Adams. I have always been fascinated by her.
You are given five minutes to evacuate your house, the kids and pets are safe -
I would grab the photo albums my aunt made for me about 10 years ago, my laptop for sure.
How do you pass the time on your drive to and from work?
My drive only takes 10 minutes (with traffic). I normally have a dance party in the car!
Name your three favorite movies:
Orange County, Moulin Rouge and Love Actually (I guess I haven’t liked too many new movies)
Do you have any particular heroes?
I admire people who run animal shelters. They help the truly helpless!
What is your guiltiest pleasure?
Chocolate – definitely chocolate!
When I grow up I want to be just like:
My geckos…basking in the sun all day.
