Real Name: Robin

Sex: F
Age: 32

Profession: homemaker but I hate cooking and cleaning so not sure I qualify under that title
Languages Spoken: English

Tell us a little about yourself - your hobbies, interests, passions in life

I grew up in a small town in Iowa with my dad and older sister and lived there for 20 years then I moved to Pennsylvania and have lived here ever since and no I am not a farm girl, I kill everything. I try to go back home to Iowa every summer and usually stay for about a month.

I have 4 kids - Will 11yrs; Marissa 7 years and Twins Sean and Sara 4 years. My oldest William is gifted and talented; he has been on honor rolls all thru school. He is in 5th grade right now and I hope he keeps it up. He is a Mommyís Boy like no other (I canít complain about that, I love it!!)

My daughter Marissa, well she has a memory like no one else, she will always out of the blue say something like, Mom do you remember that one time when we did so and so and I have to really think about it and it would be something that happened years ago and would be amazed she even remembers it.

Sean - well he is my typical boy if its not guns or fighting its playing the computer with something to do with star wars or something with fighting.

My daughter Sara is handicapped and does not eat food by mouth so she is on a feeding tube. She will be 5 in Sept but a lot of her functions are still at like 1 year old level. She was just diagnosed with Cornelia De Lange Syndrome. With this syndrome, she has global developmental delays and feeding and behavior issues. She is very destructive. If you turn your back on her for 2 seconds she can destroy a room and make it look like a tornado came through and you just sit back amazed that she even did it that fast for someone as petite as she is.

I think everyone in Eliters knows me especially since I am always the one that never shuts up and I always have something to say lol.

Now you all understand why I donít shut up and talk nonstop most of the time, my day is spent with 4 kids and only so much conversation I can have with them so Eliters is my family and my communication key to keep me somewhat sane well whatever sanity I have left anyways lol.

Having kids was a hard adjustment for me, I went from living in Iowa being very very wild and never home always out doing something to moving to Pa having a child and now I rarely leave my house.

What other interests or hobbies do you have (other than Eliters, of course)?

I used to spend all my nights bowling when I lived in Iowa then when I moved here I stopped and this year I just started bowling again and I have to say I LOVE IT and I really missed bowling so am very happy I am doing that again. My other interest is reading romance books, I have about 8 Big Black Trash bags full of Harlequin Romance books so I think I have enough reading to last me a lifetime.

How did you learn about Eliters and when did you join?

I was in Pinochle yahoo lobby and happened to be in the lounge the league plays in and saw them all talking and joined as I was sick of people leaving the games unfinished. I joined in Dec 2002.

How did you pick your Eliters' Name - does it have any special significance?

Well, I originally had Robin1902 but thatís banned for 20 years for scrolling lobby so I came up with this one as I am always chatty and happy go lucky.

Tell us something unique or interesting about yourself that we are unlikely to know

Hmmm almost everyone knows me but I guess something most probably wouldn't know is when I was 17 I was in Paris Island SC in Marines Boot camp.

What makes Eliters special?

The feeling of being part of a family.

What games do you play? Are there any other games you would like to give a try?

I think I can play all the games in Eliters, can't say I am good at them but I think I have figured them all out enough to hold my own.

What is your absolute favorite game - and who taught you to play?

Pinochle!

Growing up in a small town in Iowa I would always watch my dad and a bunch of old guys go to the Pool Hall every day and play Pinochle and knew I wanted to learn it but my dad refused to teach me how to play it (guess he thought I wouldn't understand it) so when I was around 17 a bunch of us used to sit around drinking and they would play pinochle so I jumped in and started playing and loved it ever since.

My 2nd favorite game is called brisk if I spelled it right. Not many know how to play that game so I don't get to play it very often unless its a family gathering then usually you will see a set 4 of us sneak off to a corner table somewhere to play the card game and we end up playing for hours and upsetting everyone since we usually miss out on most of the other things going on around us lol.

Do you currently hold any position in Eliters? Is there any particular position in which you might be interested?

AA of Hearty, noooooooooo don't want any other positions, I have had many different positions in many different places and I am happy to stay AA as my kids require some of my focus too much at times.

What is your proudest achievement in life?

My kids!

What is the most important thing for you in tournament play?

FUN FUN FUN FUN did I say it enough????

f you could offer one suggestion to improve Eliters, what would it be?

I wish people wouldn't always be in such a hurry nowadays and actually have fun and realize other things might be going on at the same time around the house.

If you had one wish what would it be?

That my daughter Sara did not have a genetic disorder called Cornelia De Lange Syndrome and was a normal child.

If you could use one sentence to describe the way you feel about Eliters, to a prospective new player, what would it be?

Eliters is a friendly game based atmosphere.

What is the most memorable experience that you have had as a TD or a player, online or at a live event

The very first gathering I attended in Michigan I got to meet a lot of Pinochle Eliter players, it was a blast and I will always remember that one. It was a road trip that was memorable.

It started out at my house in Pa, someone met me here, we went from Pa, to Ohio, stopped at someoneís house in Ohio, picked up 3 more Eliters, from there went to another place in Ohio, picked up another 2 Eliters, and then we went to Michigan. It was very interesting cramming all 7 of us into my van and driving from Ohio to Michigan and we had many laughs.

It was such a blast, I wish we did something like that again minus the cops showing up at the hotel the last day (itís a secret that only those of us there know about lol)

What is the funniest thing that has happened to you since joining Eliters.

See above. Actually, I try to make everything about fun. It is there if you look for it.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you as a player or TD?

I was known in Pinochle lobby as Diaperlady. It was my nickname they came up with as when my twins were born, I was always saying brb gotta change diaper so I became the DiaperLady (which 4 years later I am still changing them diapers) anyone wanna potty train my twins as they sure aren't learning from me trying???

If you could be one person for a day, who would you be and why?

Actually I would just want to be me again back in my older teens and to go back and have the fun that I had back then...

You are given five minutes to evacuate your house, the kids and pets are safe - which three items would you grab?

Well, I hope all 4 of my computers count as one, as those would be a necessity, then my cell phone, and my photo albums.

How do you pass the time on your drive to and from work?

Hmm well since I donít leave my house I guess I donít qualify for this question lol.

Name your three favorite movies

Top Gun, Pretty Woman, Dirty Dancing.

What is your guiltiest pleasure?

Spending hours and hours and hours online.

When I grow up I want to be just like...

Hmm arenít I already grown??

Any last words for our readers?

Always remember that this is for fun and just a game and many of us have real lives and other things going on and I would just suggest keeping that in mind when playing as you never know what someone may be dealing with at the time.
