Tell us a little bit about yourself - your hobbies; interests; passions in life.
I've been an Eliter 10+ years. Married for almost 38 years to my high school sweetheart. We have 3 children, 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
What other interests or hobbies do you have (other than Eliters of course)?
Family, traveling, hiking, motorcycling, genealogy, watching football (American version), avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
How did you learn about Eliters and when did you join?
I was playing Literati with someone, and they told me about a league they just joined. I checked it out the next day and joined.
How did you pick your Eliters' Name - does it have any special significance?
At the time I joined Eliters, I played golf. The Mimi portion of the name comes from what my grandkids call me. The number 4 was the number of grandchildren I had at the time....that has changed quite a bit now : )
Tell us something unique or interesting about yourself that we are unlikely to know?
I got my motorcycle operator's license two years ago. I've managed to put about 7,000 miles on my motorcycle since then. Don't know how unique that is, but it's the only thing I can think of.
What makes Eliters special?
What games do you play? Are there any other games you would like to give a try?
I started out just playing Literati. I learned gin, cribbage, dice and euchre after joining.
What is your absolute favorite game - and who taught you to play?
My favorite is still Literati; I am a word freak and have played Scrabble for years.
Do you currently hold any position in Eliters? Is there any particular position in which you might be interested?
I currently hold a couple; Staff Relations Director and Clubs Director.
What is your proudest achievement in life?
What is the most important thing for you in tournament play?
If you could offer one suggestion to improve Eliters; what would it be?
Eliters is great; the only thing to improve it would be more members.
If you had one wish; what would it be?
As cliche at it may sound, I would wish for peace; our world is so full of hate and discord.
If you could use one sentence to describe the way you feel about Eliters to a prospective new player; what would it be?
Eliters is a place to take a break from the stresses of the day and enjoy some great people.
What is the most memorable experience that you have had as a TD or a player; online or at a live event?
There have been so many, but if I had to name one it would be the tourney I hosted in Lity that had 43 players registered.
What is the funniest thing that has happened to you since joining Eliters?
I was playing in a tournament in Literati; set the table and invited my opponent. I started the game and was chatting with my opponent who was a good friend. She was making some odd statements about the game; she finally told me I wasn't playing her...someone else had jumped in the seat, because I had forgotten to protect the table. I explained to the non-league player and they left. I again invited Tinkie to sit and started to play. She was still making jokes about not being in the seat; after a couple of plays I had noticed another non-league player had jumped in the seat...lol. After alot of laughs, Tinkie and I finally played out match.
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you as a player or TD?
nothing comes to mind.
If you could be one person for a day; who would you be and why?
A homeless person, because I never want to take for granted how blessed I am.
You are given five minutes to evacuate your house; the kids and pets are safe - which three items would you grab?
My Bible, photos and genealogy research.
How do you pass the time on your drive to and from work?
I don't work, but when I'm in the car by myself, I ususally drive in silence. If I'm on a long trip, I listen to music.
Name your three favorite movies:
To Kill a Mockingbird, Sergeant York and Sleepless in Seattle.
Do you have any particular heroes?
What is your guiltiest pleasure?
Cadbury eggs; thank goodness they are only sold during the Easter season.
When I grow up I want to be just like:
Any last words for our readers?
I've met some wonderful people due to Eliters. I'd just like to say to each of them that I am truly thankful this gaming site brought us all together.
