Tell us a little bit about yourself - your hobbies; interests; passions in life.
I love gaming, karaoke, spending time with friends and family. I work a lot.
What other interests or hobbies do you have (other than Eliters of course)?
more games, more karaoke, and more vacations.
How did you learn about Eliters and when did you join?
Being a part of a frustrated group that played in Ladders, we were sick of the cheating that went on at that site. Balouza decided to create Eliters and many of us followed him.
How did you pick your Eliters' Name - does it have any special significance?
It was chosen for my yahoo ID , my friend's little girl would call me crispy rather than Chrissy. The 1007 comes from my birthdate of October 7th
Tell us something unique or interesting about yourself that we are unlikely to know?
I have 1 more class to goand I will have my Bachelor's Degree in hand... I have been in school for the last 4 years in pursuit of my degree BS/Accounting
What makes Eliters special?
I have been with Eliters since its inception. I was the 5th person to register with the league. Not sure why Balouza had to be the first, I guess it had something to do with him putting up the cash to fund this idea...lol
What games do you play? Are there any other games you would like to give a try?
I play just about ALL OF THEM, I don't like them all but I do play them. Maybe some day (if I can concentrate long enough) I will try to get the hang of Bridge.
What is your absolute favorite game - and who taught you to play?
OMG I grew up (one of seven kids) playing games. Back then we learned the right way to play, meaning that you either won or you lost, no pansy results of "Everyone is a WINNER". I learned Euchre and Pinochle when I decided to start playing the Olympics seriously. There wouldbe no chance of breaking records in gold, Silver, Bronze if I did not play all the games with winning as my goal. I drive myself give everything my all and be proud of what I do.
Do you currently hold any position in Eliters? Is there any particular position in which you might be interested?
I do not currently hold any position in Eliters. Been there done that, bought the 3 piece suit and a few tee shirts. I just want to play. I have too much going on in my personal life to be able to afford the hours necessary to commit to another position.
What is your proudest achievement in life?
Sorry I do not have one! I have a whole bunch of them! I see my five grown children and I see how good they do with their children. Running my own business since 2004 - In 2004 i had about 10 clients (5 of them were my kids so you know i didnt get paid) but I do currently have over 120 returning clients now and every year I get a few more. And getting my Bachelors Degree at 60 years old is definitely an accomplishment for me! I am toying with the idea of my Masters next!
What is the most important thing for you in tournament play?
Continuity, fair play for all, follow the rules, without the rules there is confusion and turmoil. And most important is to remind all that no one player is more important than the next, we are all here to play fair and have fun.
If you could offer one suggestion to improve Eliters; what would it be?
Remind the players AND the TD's that "IT IS NICE TO BE IMPORTANT - BUT IT IS MORE IMPORTANT TO BE NICE". We are players here by choice, and TD's are TD's by choice, if someone does not like where they are at they DO HAVE THE CHOICE to be elsewhere!
If you had one wish; what would it be?
to have all of my kids move out here in AZ with me, They are currently in Boston and I only get to go there 2 or 3 times a year. All the babies grow up way too fast.
If you could use one sentence to describe the way you feel about Eliters to a prospective new player; what would it be?
We are not perfect but we do try our best to be the best.
What is the most memorable experience that you have had as a TD or a player; online or at a live event?
All the great people I have met (in person) in Vancouver, quebec, montreal, CA, NV, OH, NH, MA, MD, MI. Some players have also come to my home and stayed for vacation from NH, England, CA, OH. I remember the year a whole slew of us got together and went to Roland & Nicky's Wedding in Leominster MA, we even had t-shirts made up for the Eliter's Wedding" was a fun time by all.
What is the funniest thing that has happened to you since joining Eliters?
I recall in 2003, I was working in NYC, it was a bad winter snow-storm, I had a flight booked to go to Canada for a live tourney. The airlines refused to let me fly without a passport. That would not be enough to stop me, so I decided I would drive. Hmmm. I got on the highway and it was rush hour. I drove and I drove, and I drove, and I drove. after abot 3 hrs or so, I realized I was on the same stretch of road just basically going in circles...lol Being nighttime and snowy and not realizing where I was I kept following the signs and just kept going in the same loop. LOL, I finally got to Canada the next day, got to play some games, and before I knew it, it was time to head back to NY. I think I drove a total of 24 hrs and played for 3 hrs. No matter what every time I thought about it, I laughed at being so oblivious to my surroundings.
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you as a player or TD?
I do not embarrass easily, especially since there is a monitor between me and others.
If you could be one person for a day; who would you be and why?
I would be a powerball winner, I would set up trust funds for my grandkids and the stipulation for them to have the money would be AFTER they get their college degrees (I would also pay for the college tuitions)
You are given five minutes to evacuate your house; the kids and pets are safe - which three items would you grab?
My laptop, my I-Pad, my Crystal-Light
How do you pass the time on your drive to and from work?
I listen to Talk-Radio (the Right of course)
Name your three favorite movies:
I really don't have any favorite movies as I do not watch TV. I guess I would always fall back on the classics like Gone with the wind, Love Story, The Godfather, The Wizard of Oz.
Do you have any particular heroes?
The three stooges (Moe, Larry, and Curly) Shemp was ok but I didn't like Joe, and Mark Levin (radio talk show host)
What is your guiltiest pleasure?
Food, I like food and veggies and fruit. I make an awesome smoothie with strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, mango, banana, apples, pears and vanilla almond Silk, it is the boss
When I grow up I want to be just like:
A Toys R Us Kid, or Just Like Me!
Any last words for our readers?
Be kind to people, hug your kids and grandkids as you never know if it is going to be the last time you will be with them!
