More about SapphoVrgn

How long have you been playing games online?

Only about 2.5 years.

How much time do you spend online a week?

Waaaaaaaaaaay too much, lol. About 30 hours or so.

How did you learn about Eliters and when did you join?

I stumbled into Mean Joe Greene 2 years ago, jumped onto a tourney table, got myself booted off that table, THEN noticed there was a league in the room, lol. Free 30 day trial? I'm in! Just about anything free will grab my attention lol.

When did you first become a Staff Member at Eliters?

I was fast approaching my 30 day limit (at the time), and was about 500 YEPs short of the 2000 for membership (at the time). But those TDs looked like they were having a blast and I told Matthew7025_ that I really wanted a membership so that I could become a TD, but just couldn't afford even the $10 silver. He put a bug in another person's ear, and that person, my evil birthday twin (we found out about that later!) very generously used her YEPs to get me a membership. I put in my application for TD that day and was accepted as a TD on July 31, 2002.

Tell us about your career history at Eliters.

I've been a TD with DOP only--it's home to me. When I first joined as a TD, amikemdr714 (HA in DOP at the time) asked the team where we wanted to go in Eliters. I told him that I might want GL someday but no more than that lol. Look at me now! He probably thinks I lied to him, lol.

What is it in your background that prepared you for all this?

All those visits to the psych ward at the local hospital. ........ Lol, In all seriousness, I'm not sure much of anything in my background COULD have prepared me for all this. My basic philosophy has always been to "fly by the seat of my pants" and I've always had good landings lol.

What leagues have you administered or been a TD in Elite?

Only Dominoes Pogo (DOP).

Many TDs move around Elite at various points in their careers, any particular reason you have never left DOP?

?ve played in some of the other leagues, enjoyed the camaraderie. But ?ve always felt like the folks in DOP, players and TDs alike, were the ones that feel most likeÜfamil?.

Plus Iíve been a bones player for many years, learned from my grandmother as soon as I could count, and that's the game Iíll always be partial to.

Do you administer any real-life competitions?

No, I haven't, unless you want to count the competition between pets for my attention, lol.

What do you do in your time away from Elite?

There's time away from Elite?

What makes Eliters different from the competition?

The only other league that I joined for a grand total of 3 days was what I would call "stuffy shirt". The players were not very friendly or even very helpful. I guess they thought their leagues' pages were sooooooooo simple that nobody should need help lol. I just wanted to play. I've seen on numerous occasions (and have done this myself) where someone new to the room says "player needed at 34" and an Eliter will go, play, chat, talk about the league, and convince them to give us a try. I didn't see that with the other leagues I've seen around the net. We are friendly, and it feels like "family". And yes, we have our squabbles like family too lol. But mostly, we forgive and forget, and get back to playing.

What would you tell a prospective member who is trying to choose between Eliters and other, similar leagues?

Try the rest, then come back to the best! That's why we are called "Eliters" lol. Or, it's free guest membership, what do you have to lose? Nothing! (That's what got me lol.)

Well, that certainly sums it up, any last words for our readers?

Have fun, for crying out loud!!!
