How long have you played games online?

Spades was the first online game I learned. I began playing in Yahoo in about 1995. I joined Elite in 2000 or 2001. It says December 2001 on the “Pioneers” list, but this is my third and final name!

What is your preferred play site? And why?

I prefer playing in Yahoo or Game Desire and Spades is my game of choice. I guess you love what you are most familiar with and I began playing online in Yahoo so it’s hard to leave. I have played in Game Desire and I see great potential there. It is just very difficult to recruit players to play in a new site for 2x2 leagues.

How did you learn about Eliters, and when did you join?

I was jumping from room to room playing in Yahoo and stumbled into the Rock! Everyone was having a great time and the chatter was friendly so I decided to give it a try…and I’m so glad I did!

What made you keep coming back to Eliters?

The players instantly became “friends”. I missed talking to them when I was busy and didn’t get to play. When I would return, most seemed genuinely glad to see me. It was like going “home”.

What positions have you held in Eliters….and is there anything that you haven’t done that you would like to do in the future?

I have climbed the ladder from Jrtd, TD, SrTD, GL, TGL, AA and now HA in Spady. I went from JrTD to SrTD in euchy.

Anything I haven’t done…hmmmmmm….yes…but those folks do a fantastic job and I’m glad it’s them and not me!!

I’m very happy where I am right now and content to stay here as long as i can be of benefit to Spady and Elite.

What games do you play? And What is your favorite game and why?

Spady is my favorite…I think I’ve mentioned that. =) I really like euchre (like does not equate with good at!). I like to play gin, crib, and dominoes. I like canasta, but I need a lot of instruction in that game! I had a friend who tried to teach me pino many years ago….but I think they decided I was hopeless!

Have you learned any new games since being a part of Eliters?

Yes, all of the above were new to me except dominoes and gin. I learned spades online – my 12 year old daughter taught me!

What in your opinion is the best thing about Eliters?

The sense of family you have in Elite is what attracted me to the league and what has kept me here. It is also the most organized league I’ve been in (yes, I was foolish enough to try a couple others waaaaay back when…lol). As a TD, the pages are by far the easiest to use and the site is unlike any other I’ve seen.

What is the most memorable experience that you have had as a TD or a player, online and at a live event?

I have never had the pleasure of attending a live event, but will certainly do my best to the next time my Spady friends meet!

The most memorable would have to be meeting my “significant other” (write_this_down01) there. I was waiting on a tourney to begin and accepted an invite to an unrated table. Well I am addicted to spades, so I accepted the invite. We began talking and I encouraged him to join Elite before the next tourney! And the rest, as they say, is history!!

What is the funniest thing that has happened to you since joining Eliters.

I think that would have to be meeting Hazy and Hershey in person in St. Louis. We had talked to them in Yahoo messenger and on voice and on the phone making preparations to meet in St. Louis. Keith and I arrived late at night before they did. We were all excited and decided to leave late night instead of waiting til the next morning! We had decided to take a “nap” before they got there. We woke up in a strange hotel room as two “strangers” came into the room. It was great! We sat up and talked for hours just like we did online. It was truly like reuniting with old friends.

The most embarrassing thing, that you can talk about of course.

Well, I can’t tell ya about most of em, lol, but I guess spamming the wrong info or announcing the winners backwards would be the most embarrassing things that happen to a TD! And I hate to say it, but I’ve done it more than once. =(

Who is the one person that you can say has helped you the most here?

That would have to be sunnyeliters. She was the one who trained me when I became a JrTd in Spady. She has always been there if I had a question and is never too busy to help. Sunny always sent her congrats when I was a TD in euchy and reached a milestone or received a promotion. She was very gracious and eager to accept me back into the Spady “family” when I applied for a transfer. When I was appointed HA, she was the first one to send her congrats. I appreciate her help and support of Spady, Elite and of me.

In your opinion, what makes Eliters different from other leagues?

That would have to be the same as the ? above….. What in your opinion is the best thing about Eliters?

If you had one wish what would it be?

That is not eas?&.i would wish for harmony among all players in all of Elite. No more notes needed. ?d also wish for no more spam bots in Yahoo!!!

And I guess my REAL wish would be….to get paid to stay home and host and play in ELITE all day!!

If you could only use one sentence to describe the way you feel about Eliters, to a prospective new player, what would it be?

Elite is a place you can come when you have a bad day and someone will encourage you, make you smile and make you feel like you had a hug from someone who cares about you!

Any last words for our readers?

Thank you all for making Eliters possible. Without everyone who is part of Eliters, none of it would be possible or as great a place as it is. Please try to remember we are here for fun…and that YOU were once new, too!
