Tell us a little bit about yourself!
Hmmm... I'm a 33 year old single gal living in Baltimore. I work as a pediatric occupational therapist, and I love my job. I'm pretty adventurous, and have lived in 5 different states in the past 10 years. I'm also headed to Europe for a month this spring!
How long have you played games online?
I started playing yahoo games when I first got a home computer in 1999.
What do you like to do away from the computer?
I love to golf, ski, and play sports in general. I play year-round on softball, volleyball, and co-ed touch-football teams. When I'm not playing sports or online games, I enjoy working around the house, reading, and shopping!
What is your preferred play site? And why?
I like both Yahoo and Pogo, but have played Yahoo games much longer.
How did you learn about Eliters and when did you join?
I was playing in Yahoo Spades, and MoodyrBlue got me started in my first Eliters Tourney. I joined in August of 2001.
How did you pick your Eliters' ID? Is this your one and only?
I have 2 Eliters IDs. Baltimore_Lauren is my Yahoo name (and pretty self-explanatory), and Toootttsss is my Pogo name (a joking nickname given to me by the HA while TDing in Crib Pogo after my old name - Zgirl - kept getting bleeped out by the language filter.
What made you keep coming back to Eliters?
I kept learning new games and meeting fun people.
When did you become a TD, and what made you decide to do so?
I first became a TD in Literati Yahoo when the League was just starting. It was nice watching the League grow. Then I transferred to Dominoes Yahoo for a bit, and then in Crib Pogo for a bit. I enjoyed being a TD, but my schedule got hectic and I eventually went back to being "just a player".
What positions have you held in Eliters?
I've been a TD, a Group Leader, and a Training GL.
If you could be one person for a day, who would you be and why?
Superman! I'd love to be able to fly!!! I have plans to go paragliding in Vienna, Austria next month... maybe I'll feel like I'm flying!
What games do you play? And What is your favorite game and why?
I enjoy almost every Eliters game. My favorite is definitely Canasta, but I also love Spades, Gin, and Pinochle.
Have you learned any new games since being part of Eliters?
Lots! Canasta, Backgammon, Cribbage, Dominoes, and Pool.
What in your opinion is the best thing about Eliters?
It is organized well, and a very friendly place to play.
What is the most memorable experience that you have had as a TD or a player, online and at a live Event?
I found out bearmusiceliters lives down the street from my parents' house. We met up for a game of golf!
You are stranded on a deserted island, no internet, no phone, no TV, walking along the beach, you come across?
Hmmm... hopefully some crabs or a lobster!
What is the funniest thing that has happened to you since joining Eliters?
I used to have a lot of fun TDing in Crib Pogo... I remember tap dancing in the lobby while hosting Tournaments, trying to convince debzgame to fill out a TD application, and stealing smooches from buskey when he stopped in to play.
How do you pass the time on your drive to and from work?
Oh boy... don't share this one with my insurance agent! I read the mail (when stopped at the stop-lights, of course!), sing (loudly and not very well), and ponder the meaning of life.
Who is the one person that you can say has helped you the most here?
Hmmm... does a recent Spades partner who carried me through the ELIC count?
In your opinion, what makes Eliters different from other leagues?
I haven't joined any other leagues, but (judging from their lobby behavior) they don't seem as friendly as Eliters.
If you had one wish what would it be?
Uhhh... world peace?
When I grow up I want to be just like:
My supervisor at work... she's 50 years old, works 2 days a week, and spends most of her time traveling the world and relaxing in her vacation home that sits on a golf course! Sounds nice to me!
If you could only use one sentence to describe the way you feel about Eliters, to a prospective new player, what would it be?
It's the biggest, friendliest, and best League on the internet!
Any last words for our readers?
I hope everyone has a happy and healthy 2006!
