How much time do you spend online a week?

40-50 hrs per week.

Tell us about your career history at Eliters.

I became a TD in May, 2002. I quickly hosted my way to Sr TD status, and not long after that was appointed AGL. My GL resigned about a month after that, and Chicana moved me to the GL position. It was then that I first realized that Chicana had quite a lot on her and had little or no help in running the league.

I applied for administration and was accepted. I served as AA in Lity for several months. While I was AA, Chicana taught me much about what it takes to run this league. She was unable to be online as much as she'd like, so I had the opportunity early on to get real 'hands-on' experience. I just recently was appointed HA of Lity. It is a job I take very seriously, and I'm doing my level best to make this league we all love become even better!

What is it in your background that prepared you for all this?

I taught pre-school for several years. In that job, I had to have good organizational skills and great patience. These two qualities are definitely needed in dealing with the growth process of this league. I'm also the mother of three children, grandmother of 6. This also has taught me to be patient as well as teaching me conflict management..lol.

And what do you do, for Elite that makes use of all these skills?

I use just about every aforementioned skill on a daily basis in Lity. Of course, I use my computer skills each time I'm here. The management skills I learned while teaching are put to use in working with my wonderful TD team. I couldn't ask for a better bunch to work with. They all know they can come to me with anything, and I know they are there for me whenever I need them.

What is the best game format for a beginner to Lity?

For a beginner, I'd say the basic 10/5, No Bingo game is easiest. The timer is ample and it's a fairer game for beginners because no bingos are allowed. A bingo in Lity is using all 7 tiles in a single turn... you get a 35 point bonus for that.

Can you offer us any hints?

My strategy in Lit is to do my best not to open up the Triple Word (3W) spaces, and to play defensively to block my opponent by using the letters that can't be used for those 2 letter words. It is most helpful to know all of those little two letter words in Lity because you can stack your words ...scoring more points

What do you do in your time away from Elite?

I provide daycare for my grandchildren. I love to sing and dance. (You should see me on Karaoke night!) I travel quite often, also like to watch my favorite football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and my favorite college basketball team, the Kentucky Wildcats!!! I'm involved in church work. Oh! I almost forgot... I play golf.

You mentioned playing golf in your free time, how is that related to your ID?

When I first got my internet connection, we had just moved to this house.. it is built on a golf course, and I had just begun to play the sport. My grandchildren call me Mimi, and at that time I had 4 grandchildren... thus the mimi4.

You also mentioned traveling, where was the furthest place you’ve traveled and what was the most exciting thing you did or saw while traveling?

We travel so much, I guess the furthest from home I've been is Las Vegas, which is a 5 hour flight from here. Most exciting is by far Cancun, Mexico. We went snoreling, kayaking and all sorts of stuff there. We always go to an inclusive resort when we go to Cancun, eat and drink all you want.

Can I be in your luggage next time you go?

I get asked that all the time.

What would you tell a prospective member who is trying to choose between Eliters and other, similar leagues?

The people are the best!! I've played in three different leagues; Eliters is the best managed league by far!

Well, that certainly sums it up, any last words for our readers?

I am honored to be in Administration of this league. I do not take this job lightly and will always do anything within my power to see it succeed.
