More about bricook002

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

You wouldn't know it, but I'm an extremely shy person, but I do have a great sense of humor, and you will find this in the lobby if you look for it. As well, I'm sure you all want to know what Point-of-Sale means--because everyone asks me. What I mean is, on Saturdays, I will put through order for product through to the batch program we use that communicates to all our store devices and the main headquarters of our chain. On Sundays, we start our sales, so I would be changing the prices of products to reflect these changes, and making sure it is heavily advertised and ringing up correctly.

What other interests or hobbies do you have (other than Eliters of course)?

Work. Eliters. TV. Yeah, I'm pretty boring. But better to be boring and happy, then crazy and insane. Wait, no... I'm insane and crazy, too. Guess that analogy doesn't work....

How did you learn about Eliters and when did you join?

have been playing online for almost 9 years, starting all the way back in the MSN Gaming Zone when it was in its prime. I played mostly cribbage (over 35,000 matches), but have played a bit of hearts and as well. I first started tournaments about 6 years ago, when I found Crib 'N Chat, a league hosted on the Zone. That was my home, until the Zone removed these classic games from their site on June 19th, 2006. I was without a home, so I had to search around for a new site. On the June 24th, 2006, I began here, but soon left after running out of YEPs, and returned when I was "flushed out." Early June last year, upon graduation high school, I came back, found out I could host, and never looked back since.

What is your preferred playsite and why?

In a perfect world, I would have loved having MSN Gaming Zone as part of our Eliters group, and played there. But, since they got rid of all their free classic card and board games, it alas would not happen. I guess I would love this, since that was my home for so many years, and well, Yahoo rooms are not the best. Besides, the graphics were better and had better sounds. (Like that matters.)

What makes Eliters special?

Professional tournies by professional people, with great players. What more could a lonely teenage boy ask for? Wait--the right answer for that would be a girlfriend. Alex, I'll take "Wants and Needs" for 400.

What games do you play? Are there any other games you would like to give a try?

I play anything and everything, as soon as I learn how to play them all. The one I know best, of course, is cribbage, but I also play pool, canasta, gin, and other games at home that we don't have here yet (but soon will, I bet!) If you want to teach me a game, please do! I love learning new games

What is your absolute favorite game - and who taught you to play?

Cribbage. I like cribbage. Cribbage is fun. Cribbage is life. Cribbage was taught to me by my mother and grandmother when I was young, as my mom used to play and I used to watch her (yes, for fun). Then I played cribbage. And then I played cribbage again. Did I mention I played cribbage? Cribbage, cribbage, cribbage. Okay, I'm done. Cribbage.

Do you currently hold any position in Eliters? Is there any particular position you might be interested in?

Ugh, better question is what haven't I done? But, I am now currently a PSTD for GameDesire leagues. I joined this to help out our struggling leagues here, and enjoy it thoroughly. I am also, DPA and TGL in pool9d, and a GL in dod and pool8d. What would I like to be? President. Watch on balouza, I'm coming after ya! (Just kidding!) But, seriously, I don't limit myself. I take on a lot, and try to do my best...whatever is needed, I'll do my best to help.

What is your proudest achievement in life?

Wow. That's deep. I'm moved. An Oscar! I would like to thank my mom, my dad, my parakeet--Okay, that dreams over. I would say I would be proud of my marathon work. I've done countless 24-36 hour marathons (as single matches) in the Zone, and have come out on top multiple times. There was nothing sweeter back then when I was 14. And no, I don't have a parakeet.

What is the most important thing for you in tournament play?

Actively entertaining TDs and players. I'm sorry, but I get really bored in a tournament if I can't joke around and have some fun with everyone. Oh, and Joey, you're still fired.

If you could offer one suggestion to improve Eliters, what would it be?

M&Ms. All TDs and players get free M&Ms for life. Oh, and Skittles too. And you don't like them, I'll take them for ya! Or, you know...peace and prosperity. Boring. Still would rather the candy. But seriously, I think that marathon would be a great addition. I was always addicted to them, and wish we had them here. Basically, you have it scheduled in advance and throughout a 24 (or 36) hour period, you play all the matches you can (you can leave anytime, eat, sleep, whatever) and come back at any time. You also can register at any point, and start to rack up wins. If any of you like this idea, I can elaborate more, but it was always hit in the Zone.

If you had one wish what would it be?

No cheats. I wish there were no cheats, so everyone can play fair and square, and we all can live happily.

If you could only use one sentence to describe the way you feel about Eliters, to a prospective new player, what would it be?

Eliters is a fun tournament leagues that houses many games in multiple leagues with friendly TDs and players, playing for fun rather than glory, as well as challenges, skill matches, gold boxes, fun messages boards, cool raffles, and just about anything else you could ever dream of, where you can play to your heart's content 24/7 and never have to worry about anything else again! Hey, you didn't say it had to be a short sentence.

What is the most memorable experience that you have had as a TD or a player, online or at a live event.

Wow. There are so many moments that I have enjoyed here in Eliters, it's hard to just have one at the top. But I do remember one time in the lobby that was just insane enough that I would never forget it. Neo and his Basement Boy brigade... I remember them all trying to come up with a good superhero name for me, and this one stuck. Oh, neo, you goof.

What is the funniest thing that has happened to you since joining Eliters?

Well, I love to laugh, so my most memorable experience would be the same as the funniest moment. But there are others, such as the time I dozed off in the middle of a marathon. Yeah, they never let me live that down. Never. I can hear them talking about it now.... Oh, and the time ocean was talking about her job, always fun talking about that.

What is the most embarrassing thing, (that you can talk about of course).

Oh, I make mistakes all the time. And I do get embarrassed very easily, so usually it would be something as small as cancelling a tourney by accident, or not knowing the difference between a PS and SS partners due to a blonde moment. Even though I have brown hair. Blonde must be somewhere....

If you could be one person for a day, who would you be and why?

This is always hard for me, as there are so many people I look up to both here, and in my social life. I couldn't possibly choose one. In a way, I'd like to be everyone for a day, and maybe get some understanding on how hectic or interesting their life may be. Yep, I'm a happy-go-lucky dreamer, but overpowering pessimist. I need a change. Let me into your soul! Okay, that was scary.

You are given five minutes to evacuate your house, the kids and pets are safe - which three items would you grab?

My hard drive, with all my important data, my TiVo box, and a pen. Oh, my God. You never know when you are going to need a pen. It's like a magical window into a world only you can set the boundaries on. Rainbow colors! Swirls of light! Ponies! Wait...no ponies. But you can have the ponies.

Name your three favorite movies.

Ugh, I don't watch many movies, but I have seen a few... and again, hard to place which ones would be the best, but I will list three that come to the top of my mind. 1) Now and Then (A girly movie, but hey, you need one every once in a while--besides, it's hilarious) 2) Monty Python and the Holy Grail (Now, come on. If you haven't seen this movie, and if you are a guy, you just have to see it. You will laugh, unless you have no sense of humor.) 3) Airplane! (Again, if you don't laugh, you have no sense of humor. Comedy classic.)

Which celebrity would you like to banish to permanent rehab?

Banish to rehab? Celebrities? I really can't answer this question as my pop culture on this subject is fairly lacking. I really don't care enough to listen to the news.

What's your guiltiest pleasure?

Hehe. Oh, wait. Not that. Sorry, was just thinking about perfect29_1 in a french maid outfit.

When I grow up I want to be just like:

French Fries. No, really! Theyíre all crammed in the box like little sardines (which, by the way, donít fight either) and they donít argue! Itís like they respect each other! The world would be a better place if we could respect each other like that!

Any last words for our readers?

Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak! And if you don't get that, read a book!
