Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am one of six children - 2 older brothers and 1 older sister, then I am in the middle with one younger sister and brother.

I graduated from high school in 64. Been in the service from 65 to 71--was stationed in Korea 69 to 71, learned a little Korean which I share with chouttelady. I have had lots of jobs - setting pins at a bowling alley before I was a teenager, short order cook, installed seamless gutters, sailed the great lakes on an ore carrier, worked for Pontiac motors, went into aluminum siding business, later added the roofing part of it. Eventually my legs gave out, so I went to work at a local county jail, in the kitchen.

I had a fight with cancer--lost some parts-- but won. Now I'm retired.

What other interests or hobbies do you have (other than Eliters of course)?

Well I used to bowl and shoot pool--no longer bowling-- but I love pool.

How did you learn about Eliters and when did you join?

I am a former monkey, but got tired of all the inner bickering--I noticed this other league and noticed that there was a lot of talking and just plain having fun within this league. So I inquired as to the name and it just happened to be Eliters. Chouettelady talked me into joining and she walked me thru the registration process---this league just ROCKS

How did you pick your Eliters' Name - does it have any special significance?

My nickname is part of my last name and my birthday - this is the only place where I am called rey, in real life they just call me Mike.

Tell us something unique or interesting about yourself that we are unlikely to know.

I am something of a local history buff. I have a very close friend who is 8 years older than I am, but when we talk and he mentions people's names he went to school with--I usually know the same person--also about the two towns I have lived in--like places long gone--just about anything in the late 40s till now. I can remember seeing/being there and we have great discussions about things from the past.

What in your opinion is the best thing about Eliters?

What makes Eliters special? That's easy! Just look in the mirror- YOU ARE WHAT MAKES ELITERS SPECIAL

What games do you play? Are there any other games you would like to try?

I play crib/euchre/gin most of the time. But I also play pool/spades/hearts/doms. Actually there isn't any other game that I would like to try - I am very content with the 3 I play regularly now.

What is your absolute favorite game - and who taught you to play?

My absolute favorite is a no brainer for me - it is cribbage! I learned that when I was bout 6-7 years old. At the time I was sick with what was called trenchmouth, so I couldn't go to school till it was completely gone. My dad worked at the gasket making company (in the kitchen). It was within walking distance from our house (2 short blocks away) so every now and then he would come home to see how I was doing and he just started teaching me cribbage. Once he thought I knew enough to actually play the game on my own---that's when he said to me, "ok son, now we will play the REAL cribbage game." He had me almost in tears for the points he was taking from me for not counting my cards right, lol! But it was a well learned lesson and when I finally returned to school, I could add faster than the teacher could, lol. Ah, the memories...

Do you currently hold any position in Eliters? Is there any particular position you would be interested in?

At one time I was a TD in giny, but family life was hectic and I had to quit being a TD. Do I want to become a TD again? Not at this particular time. Sorry!

What is your proudest achievement in life?

I have gotten the ultimate 29-point hand in cribbage 3 times---twice with real cards and once online--but I lost count on the proverbial 19 hand--if you know what that means??? lol

What is the most important thing for you in tournament play?

Friendliness when playing--not all games go the way you want them to and, yes, at times it is even hard for me to say gg, but I still try and say it. If I haven't while playing you -I am awfully sorry, that is really not my nature.

If you could offer one suggestion to improve Eliters, what would it be?

Another no brainer---just give me more YEPS!

If you had one wish what would it be?

To have the people I loved/cared about who have passed on to come back.

If you could only use one sentence to describe the way you feel about Eliters, to a prospective new player, what would it be?

LMAO - what I usually tell all newbies- THEY HAVE TO LOSE TO ME FIRST TO GET INITIATED.

What is the most memorable experience that you have had as a TD or a player, online or at a live event?

Each and every time is memorable! To try and single one out would be a disservice to all the others.

What is the most embarrassing thing that you have experienced (that you can talk about of course).

My typing!

If you could be one person for a day, who would you be and why?

Would rather not be another person. I am not the best but I make the best of who I am.

How do you pass the time on your drive to and from work?

I am retired but also work part time. Unfortunately, but my car doesn't even get warm by the time I get there so there's not a whole lot of thinking going on!

Name your three favorite movies:

The entire Godfather and Lord of the Rings series plus any and all Disney movies.

Do you have any particular heros?

The men/women in the armed forces. GOD BLESS THEM ALL

What is your guiltiest pleasure?

guiltiest pleasure...best left unsaid lol!

When I grow up I want to be just like:

ME only ME...for better or worse!

Any last words for our readers?

well...lol...I think I better do that in the lobbies. phewwwwwww---amazed even myself--filling this out---lol
