Rules of Good Sportsmanship

The rules of proper game play are only slightly different online than in the real world, in that one does not actually verbalize the letters ‘gg’ or ‘wtg’ when physically sitting across from one’s opponent.

However, the rules of good sportsmanship should always apply.

Players who have respect for the game will always be polite and congratulatory when they lose. You are not only playing a game that tests your wits, you are playing a game that tests your character. An opponent who is rude loses not only the game, they also lose character.

You can not change the behavior of some people, so one strongly recommends that you lead by example and continue to say “wtg!,” “gg,” “congrats,” “well played” and “very nice” whether or not your opponent shows the same courtesy.
