On my way home from work last night I heard this story, words are not exact, but, the basic points are as follows.

This girl is to be attending her last year of high school in the fall of this year. Her father is being called away to Turkey in the military. He decided that he was taking his wife and child (children?) with him so they can all stay together. This means she will have to leave her friends/teachers behind, reluctantly.

The lady running the music last night told her about her own story, and it went like this:

I had to move in recent years, she said. She had to move to a place where there were bad memories. She could see nothing good that could come from the move. She had an attitude about it, even though she knew she had to move. I believe it was her husband's job that made them have to move.

Anyway, it came to pass that her mother was diagnosed with cancer. Her employer at her new job was quite understanding with the time she needed off to help care for her mother. Her in-laws were there for her, as well, because they now lived close by. Her mother eventually died. If they made the choice months or years or whatever it was earlier to not make this move, one can assume that her previous employer may not have been so understanding, and it is probably so that she would not have been able to take care of her mother because she was too far away.

This lady now sees that moving was a blessing in disguise, and told the teenager to try to look at the move she has to make differently. This girl will make new friends, and have an experience over seas that many will not ever have.

I just felt like sharing this...
