My Life as an Eliter continues
Attitude Reflects Leadership - a line from Remember the Titans with Denzel Washington. It was one of those Oprah moments for me, there are not many of those in your life, that you hear it, and go wow, okay that makes sense and this new door opens for you.
Leadership - Some people have it, naturally, it is easy, and everyone Leads differently. It really doesn't matter how you do it, as long as you get the job done, and it is an enjoyable ride for everyone involved. But a Leader isn't someone who can do everything by themselves, they have to give up some stuff, give it to others to help along the way, because there is not enough time in one day for everything that needs to be done, and that doesn't matter what League you are in charge of.
The simple equation for a successful League is this in my opinion:
To give people and our members the best gaming experience possible. Eliters works hard each and every day, with things that most members don't even realize, to help the different Teams and Leagues make their jobs easier.
Laughter, fun, friendliness, a game of sport, competitiveness, whatever it is that you are looking for, is here in Eliters, you just have sit back and open yourself up to it. Try different Eliters Leagues, see where you fit in best!
There is always a friendly face, and a helping hand, wherever you go!
And if you want to become more involved, fill out that TD application, its alot of fun trust me!
On a more personal note, this is my last edition of the Newsletter as Editor. I have thoroughly enjoyed doing this for the last 20 months, along with working with Lisa and Issa. It has given me an opportunity to learn more about Eliters as a whole, all the different Leagues, and all the different people it takes to make it as good as it is. One thing I have seen throughout Eliters that is constant, and please, I hope that you will listen to this and really think about what I am about to say:
We all pay for this site, yes, we all are entitled our opinions, I agree. This is a business, yes, when money is involved it always is, but having paid for a membership and having the right to express your opinion DOES NOT GIVE ANYONE THE RIGHT TO TREAT OTHERS BADLY. Maliciousness, badmouthing, is only hurtful and is not good for any business, Eliters or otherwise.
Remember, the next time you are angry, or upset, that everyone is human, that ALL positions of an ADMIN team for each individual leagues are VOLUNTARY and that they make mistakes also. Before you do something rash, post in the clubs something nasty, or in the Lobby, take a deep breath, calm down, and speak to the HA or AA privately. I know for certain, that something can be worked out.
