Andypigeon from Another Angle
What kind of man is AndyPigeon70? Here's your answer:
On May 15th, I was informed that I was having open heart surgery. My open heart surgery was three days later on Friday, May 18th 2007. Andy was on the phone with me for hours at a time once I came out of surgery and ICU. He was the Eliters contact who informed many other Eliters of my progress.
Just two weeks after coming home, Andy arrived at my front door to stay with me for one week. He arrived on June 9th, 2007. He didn't just arrive. He drove 24 hours... leaving just hours after having chemotherapy. Andy not only came to take care of me, he took me to my job to turn in paperwork, took me to doctor's appointments, and met with my surgeon and home health care nurses.
While at my house, we played cards, worked on puzzles together and many times he just sat around while I slept. When I did have the strength, I tried to show him Florida. Andy saw the ocean for the first time in his life and played in it as if he was 8 years old and it was Christmas morning. He saw a manatee and swam in freshwater springs. He had a good time while he was here in Florida.
This is the kind of man Andy is. A sweet, caring, old school gentlemen (I had no idea they still existed) who cares about others without the slightest bit of hesitation. He'd give anyone the shirt off his back if it would make them smile. He's a good man, a religious man, a great father, a loving brother and son whom everyone should be proud to have as his friend.
So come celebrate Andy... its time that we take a moment to celebrate a person who gives so much of himself to others and remind ourselves what really matters in life.
