Like any family we appear to be quite dysfunctional at times. And yet, when things get tough for any of our members you will see a huge and genuine outpouring of support. Now we can all choose to remember the people who annoyed us or said something to offend us - or we can simply move on and remember all the good things.
I have said it so many times before - and I don't think that I am atypical in any way - at the end of the day I don't remember the scores, but I do remember the people.
One of the great things about this league is that we get to meet people from different cultures, different lifestyles, different countries - and yet we have so much in common.
Our interviewees this month are both GinY TDs - one has been here for many years, hails from Serbia and lives in Australia. The other is a relatively new Eliter who lives in New Jersey with strong Irish roots. Both host in the same league, both are moms and even though they may be worlds apart, they both love and bring their own special brand of fun to Eliters.
You don't have to hold hands and sing kumbaya - but it would be a terrible waste of opportunity not to get to know some of these absolutely wonderful people who make up this league.
The games matter, but the people matter most.
Ever wonder what you can do to make it better? Always be a good sport, always help new players and include them in the group; if someone is down, try to boost their spirits; if something cheeses you off - don't just rush to the clubs, wait a day or so, and see if it really is important still.
Most of all - have fun. If you are enjoying yourself, everyone else will too.
