When nice things happen to good people
It's always good to be reminded that the world really is a good place.
Recently DMDesiderata and her mom attended a performance of Celtic Thunder (Celtic Male Vocalists) at Radio City in New York. Now some of you may know that DMD has a vision impairment. They had seats waaaaaaaaaaay back, which meant it was impossible for her to see much at all. So they went to the manager and asked about disabled services - usually provided for people in wheelchairs. Turns out they accommodate people with vision problems too. So DMD and her mom moved to way up front, behind family members of one of the singers. At no cost - even though they were more than willing to pay for the seats.
Afterwards, they went to the backstage door for autographs. And, as if the music wasn't enough, they got to witness something quite remarkable. There were lots of people trying to get the singers' attention and autographs. They were calling for Damien (the youngest teenage singer) to get in the van. There was one little boy in particular who wanted his autograph really badly - however, Damien left to get in the van, then thought better of it and returned to sign the kid's autograph.
Always nice to hear about people doing the right thing!
