HoldemP is on the loose!
Have you noticed the tourneys and clubs lately? HoldemP has several new TDs that have been scheduling some each day around the clock. If you haven’t been to HoldemP lately, you should come by to check out the tourneys and the wonderful players and TDs.
Don’t know what Hold ‘em is all about?
Hold ‘em is a variation of 5 card poker, only you are dealt two cards to start and that begins the bidding process with two players bidding “blind” (small blind, large blind).
Then 3 cards are dealt that can be combined with your 2 cards to create a 5 card hand. You can choose to bet, call (if bet on the table), check if no raise, raise the bet, or fold if your hand is just not that great.
Then, 1 at a time, 2 more cards are dealt (called the flop, and then the river). If you have stayed in the game by checking, betting, or raising, you will now use the best combination of 5 cards on the table, including your 2 that were dealt first to play your best poker hand.
Winners par in this order:
- Straight Flush
- 4 of a Kind
- Full House
- 3 of a Kind
- 2 Pair
- 1 Pair
- High Card
The winner will win the entire prize pot unless two or more hands tie, at which time high card prevails or in a lot of cases, split winnings. You are eliminated once you have run out of chips (play starts with 5,000).
The Pogo Help Pages have more information on this fun game.
Once you learn about the Flop, the Turn, and then the River, you will be ready to go “all in” at HoldemP! HoldemP is played in a non-Club Pogo lobby, so all can join. Just make sure your Eliters name and Pogo name match (no underscores or characters allowed in Pogo).
Watch for some great tourneys coming up, including a Marathon day on June 14th.
If you have never played, come on by, and we will be happy to play a round or two and some of the more experienced players will show you how to bid, play, and win (or lose lol).
In the meantime, join and check out our Tourney schedule and the clubs for more information.
