Holland — Yuko Oonk, age 52, of Holland, died Sunday, May 17, 2009 at her home. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Dykstra Life Story Funeral Homes- Downtown Chapel.
Lynx was a very special lady, and one of the best TDs in Eliters. Despite having major health problems, she never made this an issue in her life. Players and fellow TDs could always count on her to be a fun, if serious competitor.
She was playing in Euchy on Saturday the 16th, said she was feeling tired and couldn't win - and left earlier than usual to go to bed. Her husband Jack found her the next morning - she had peacefully passed in her sleep.
She is survived by her husband, Jack; daughters, Emiko Oonk Tachikawa of Beppu, Japan and Cassie Oonk at home; mother, Kazuko Tachikawa of Beppu, Japan.
Her Eliter family will always miss her and keep her in their hearts.
There was such an outpouring of love and grief on this sad occasion, I have only selected a very few of the messages - please see the EuchY club for all messages from Yuko's Eliters family.

dustkimk01 - Jack and Family, Thank you for letting us know. We have lost a big sister, friend, family member. Even though most of us only know each other on the computer, we connect on a daily basis. We are a little family onto ourselves. We laugh, cry, vent and even get mad at each other just like a real family. All I can say is God Speed my FRIEND, and to your family, I say She is at rest and without pain. She will always be with us in our hearts and minds.

marlastrauss1 - My heartfelt condolences to you and your family on the loss of your beloved Lynx. "Lynxie" was one of the first people I met in eliters when I joined euchy over 4 years ago. She was a truly amazing euchy host and player who always made me feel very welcome, both as a host and a player. She had such patience with all of us too, especially when it came to teaching us the "fine art" of playing in euchre reverse tournies, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Lynx, you will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by all.
dragonflys85 - Lynxie was someone that I always played with and talked to in Elite. Shee was always there and to talk about what her kids where doing and talk to Cassie when she was out doing stuff. She was a great person and will be missed a lot. I just don't really know what to say right now cause there really isn't anything to say besdies that she will be missed and was a great person.
haha2105 - I'm so sorry. Truly a loss for all of us at Eliters - may your burden be carried by those around you. Lynxie - rest in peace my friend.
billkambc - OMG Lynx has always been a great player and td. I will miss her deeply for all the help she has given me. My heart goes to you Jack as you had a wonderful lady. My prayers and thoughts go out to you Jack and familly. Let her rest in peace and quiet. I will miss you Lynx.
BeachPatV - I am just one small voice that thought the world of Lynxieeeeeeeeeeeee
I always said hi to her in that way and I will miss her "Hiya Tricia" May you rest in peace dear friend and my love and prayers go out to your family. I will miss you dear friend.
lindsayjo1501 - My thoughts and prayers are with you. I am shocked and saddened by this sudden news. Lynx has to be one of the most dedicated, hard working td here. More than that though, she was a friend and family to many in Eliters. I will miss Lynxieeeeeeepooie very much.
spazann - I am so shocked and sorry for you and your family Jack. Lynx was a very good friend to all of us, always ready and willing to help us all out. We have all had many, many great times here with Lynx in euchre, and I know I can speak for all of us that she will be greatly missed and that there are a lot of saddened hearts here today. Bless you and your family and and my God help you through these rough times.
homercat6711 -Jack and family, please accept my deepest sympathy on your loss. I've known Lynx through Eliters for over 7 years and she was such a genuine person. I will miss her terribly and our chop chop greetings to each other...Eliters isn't only a game - it's real life and like Kim said ,we laugh/cry and fight sometimes, but when all is said and done...we are a big family I will always cherish out time together Lynx ...r.i.p dear...homieeeeeeee
proudkiwi80 - well I'm out of words, I have a feeling of bull**** Yuko was too young and too nice this is silly! Why do the good ones go so early... I'll miss you my spammer, I'll be thinking of you lots!....if Yuko's family read this I want you to know I think she rocked!!! sending love and support from New Zealand.
ginmaster333 - I am not sure what to say you left us way to early. We were not ready for you to leave us but heaven now has a great host of euchre. To Lynx family I have you in my prayers. To our Euchre family it is sad that you have lost one of your greatest players and TDs I can only hope that her life as an Eliter will be lived through each and everyone of you.
crispy1007 - I knew Lynx from online and found her to be a person to not complain. She would be there to help out and never with an off word to say about anyone. Although she may have been unwell, she never made an issue of it. I only hope as she passed, that it was painfree. She is on the side of her Lord now and at peace.
I send my condolences to her entire family and I hope that they to will be at peace knowing she is now resting. She will be missed by all who have come to know her.
golfcrazy17 - Oh Dear Lord. Please please look after our Lynxieeeeeeee the way I know you look after all Your servants. Eliter family is one of the most special "beings" in my life, having just recently gone through my own personal loss of my father, I know Jack how devastated you and your family are feeling. Take heart from these wishes, build your strength with our support, Eliters will cope because we have each other. You and your family will cope with your own support but if we can be of help please ask.
Meantime my thoughts, prayers and hugs are with all Eliters today.
tenor12bucks - I knew Lynx first as a player - a great player in fact, one to bring your "A" game against if you drew her as an opponent. And of course she was always gracious, warm and welcoming whether in victory (usually) or in defeat.
Then I got to know Lynx as a TD; when euchy was short on TDs and having difficulty filling the calendar, she stepped right up, rejoined the TD staff, put the league first, and set an amazing example for TDs and players alike in terms of activity and demeanor. She was a model Eliter.
Her bravery in the face of pain and illness was remarkable. Few people knew how much she was suffering - I probably had only a glimpse. But I'm glad to have been there for her when she needed someone, and even more glad she was there for me.
I'll miss her greatly and think of her every time I enter the lounge
one_baddoggy - We in EuchY & Eliters wide have lost a very good friend and team mate when Lynx passed away.
It was obvious how much Lynx loved EuchY and she loved Eliters by how much work she put into the league.
So we pulled a meeting and team EuchY got together last night & we came up with the idea to make it Lynx week & dedicate all of our tourneys in honor of her.
We will be offering special bonus tourneys, high roller tourneys (one of her favorites), Silver giveaways, and much more throught the week. We welcome all of you to come play with us, share stories, & have fun as Lynx would want throught the week.
Thanks all & "CHOP CHOP
